Abstract:
This analysis looks critically at the existing opportunities for artists at risk from Turkey in Germany, focusing on the independent art scene in Berlin. It offers an overview of the most relevant support networks, programs and institutions until the summer of 2022. It also determines common deficiencies and possible solutions as recommendations to improve the existing support mechanisms towards more sustainability. This article aims to help, thereby, circulating the information around existing programs and residencies, as well as to help newly arriving artists at risk in harnessing self-care.
