MRSA ist ein gegen alle Beta-Laktam-Antibiotika resistenter Staphylococcus aureus, der sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu einem der bedeutendsten nosokomialen Keime entwickelt hat. Darüber hinaus tritt MRSA in jüngster Zeit aber auch als ambulant erworbener „Problemkeim“ immer mehr in Erscheinung. Die Resistenzentwicklung scheint weltweit durch diverse Mechanismen und Ereignisse abgelaufen zu sein. Nach Resistenzlage, Genotyp sowie allgemein nach dem Ort des Auftretens lassen sich Hospital-associated Infektionen (HA-MRSA) und Community-associated Infektionen (CA-MRSA) unterscheiden, was sich für eine sinnvoll kalkulierte Therapie als ausnehmend wichtig zeigt. Obwohl es ein großes Publikationsaufkommen und zahlreiche Übersichtsarbeiten zum Thema MRSA gibt, wurde bisher keine szientometrische Analyse dieses Forschungsbereichs vorgenommen. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde zum ersten Mal eine Analyse der bibliographischen Daten der wissenschaftlichen Publikationen zum Thema MRSA vorgenommen. Durch die Analyse des Publikationsaufkommens, der Publikationssprachen und -formen, der beteiligten Autoren, der Länder und ihres Kooperationsverhaltens sowie der Kooperationen als solcher, der Zeitschriften und des Zitationswesens wurde mit dieser Arbeit eine objektive, kritische Untersuchung der Wissenschaft zum Forschungsgegenstand MRSA durchgeführt. Dabei fanden szientometrische Kriterien wie Zitationsrate, Impact-Faktor und h-Index Berücksichtigung.
MRSA is a Staphylococcus aureus resistant against all kinds of beta-lactam antibiotics. In the last decades, MRSA started as a serious problem only in hospitals, but in the last years it also rose as an alarming community pathogen. The development of the Methicillin-resistance mechanism worldwide is characterized as processes of distinct and simultaneously evolutions. According to the kind of the resistance, the genotype and the origin of the infection, MRSA-infections are classified as Hospital-associated (HA-MRSA) and Community-associated (CA-MRSA). Although many publications and reviews concerning MRSA exist, until now there has not been a scientometric analysis of this object of scientific research. In this work a analysis of the bibliometric data of publications with MRSA as their subject was made for the first time. By researching the number, the languages, the different formats of scientific articles, the authors, the countries and their cooperations as well as the journals and the citations, an objective, critical analysis has been made and a scientific evaluation of the topic MRSA has been presented. Scientometric methods such as citation rate, Impact-factor and h-index have been applied.
