The issue includes papers on molecular genetics of aquatic organisms of different level of evolutionary organization belonging to two kingdoms – Chromista (Chrysophytes) and Animalia (mollusks, fishes, and amphibians). Both reviews and primary research papers concern different issues of species identification, molecular phylogeny and phylogeography, and taxonomy of certain groups.
