DNA can be oxidatively cleaved by copper complexes of the ATCUN peptide (amino
terminal Cu(II)- and Ni(II)-binding motif). In order to investigate the fate
of the metal ion throughout this process, we have exploited
quenching/dequenching effects of conjugated fluorophores.
