dc.description
• A 3D numerical model was built to quantitatively constrain the distribution of lunar megaregolith and its fragment size.
• Megaregolith has a distinct spatial variation and the size of fragments in the top 2 km is generally four orders of magnitude smaller than that deeper than 10 km.
• Basin-forming events controlled the megaregolith growth where the SPA impact shaped its structure.
