Abstract:
This is the original study protocol, created in 2020, for a prospective observational diagnostic study on synovial D-lactate in joint infections, conducted at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The protocol forms the methodological foundation for two peer-reviewed publications already published and one additional article currently in preparation. It is made publicly available here to ensure transparency, enable reproducibility, and support adherence to STARD guidelines for diagnostic accuracy studies.
