Das primäre Ovarial-, Tuben oder Peritonealkarzinom ist aktuell mit einer Inzidenzrate von 7.300 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr die vierthäufigste gynäkologische Krebserkrankung, stellt aber die häufigste Todesursache von gynäkologischen Malignomen dar. In den letzten zwanzig Jahren hat sich nahezu das gesamte Spektrum in der Diagnostik, Therapie und Nachsorge revolutioniert. Die betrifft vor allem Aspekte und Bereiche der Operationsindikationen und –techniken aber auch die System- und zielgerichteten Therapien. Die Einführung der sog. Erhaltungstherapien hat ihr wesentlich zur Prognoseverbesserung beigetragen. Diese Entwicklungen brachten allerdings parallel neue, komplexe Herausforderungen für Ärztinnen, Ärzte sowie Patientinnen zugleich. Hieraus ergaben sich verschiedene wissenschaftliche und klinische Fragestellungen, deren Ergebnisse in dieser Habilitationsschrift erörtert und diskutiert werden.
