dc.description
This dataset includes electron microprobe measurements and mid-IR spectra of silicate glasses and minerals sulfidized at 800-1200 °C under reducing conditions.
Table S1 includes all EPMA measurements of the silicate and sulfide phases in the polished cross-sections of the experiments. Measurements were made at 15 kV and 15 nA. The beam-size varied from 2-10 µm, depending on the grain sizes. Na, Mg, Al, Si were measured on TAP crystals, Mn, Fe, Ti on a LIF crystal, and K, Ca, S on a PETL crystal. We measured 10s on peaks, and 5s on background for all elements.
Table S2 is a compilation of all mid-IR spectra recorded on bulk and in-situ experimental materials, as they are shown in the figures of the manuscript. The spectra were collected over a spectral range of 7.7 to 12.5 µm wavelengths. The spectra are normalized to the respective highest reflectances over this spectral range. The full spectral data is also available on the Infrared and Raman for Interplanetary Spectroscopy (IRIS) database at http://bc-mertis-pi.uni-muenster.de/ and searchable by the ID number and the mineral/glass name.
