Die hypertrophe Kardiomyopathie ist die häufigste genetische Erkrankung des Herzens. Die kardiale Funktion und die Pathophysiologie sind bei dieser Erkrankung unzureichend geklärt. In dieser Arbeit wurde die Herzfunktion in Mäusen mit der humanen Troponin T Mutation 179N und deren Behandlung mit Diltiazem untersucht. Mäuse mit dieser Mutation haben eine diastolische Dysfunktion, die unter Stress zu kardialem Pumpversagen führt. Dies kann durch diltiazem verhindert werden.
The hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the most common genetic disease of the heart. The cardiac function and the pathophysiology of this disease are not completely understood. The present study investigated cardiac function of mice with the troponin t mutation 179N and its treatment with diltiazem. mice with this mutation developes a diastolic dysfunction which lead under stress conditions to sudden cardiac decompensation.This can be prevented by treatment with diltiazem.
