Die Edition und die Beschäftigung mit den ŠÀ.ZI.GA Texten führte zu der Erkenntniss, dass ŠÀ.ZI.GA die sexuelle Appetenz von sowohl Männern als auch Frauen bezeichnet und nicht, wie zuvor angenommen, allein die männliche Potenz. Jedoch kann mangelnde sexuelle Appetenz bei Männern sehr wohl zu Impotenz führen, was in den Texten deutlich wird. Weiterhin ist ein wichtiges Ergebnis, dass ŠÀ.ZI.GA sowohl in den medizinischen als auch in den magischen Bereich der altorientalischen Überlieferung gehört und nicht nur einem der beiden Bereiche zugeordnet werden kann.
The edition and study of the ŠÀ.ZI.GA Texts led to the discovery that ŠÀ.ZI.GA is the term for both male and female sexual desire and not, as previously thought, just a term for male potency. But a lack of sexual desire can lead to male impotence, as shown in the texts. Furthermore, an important result of this work is that ŠÀ.ZI.GA belongs to both medical and magical areas of the ancient near eastern tradition and does not fit only into one of these areas.
