dc.description.abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate a bilayer tablet containing
amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Following in vitro and in vivo
investigations, including the use of the Magnetic Marker Monitoring method, it
could be demonstrated that amoxicillin is only absorbed from the upper part of
the gastrointestinal tract. In addition it could be shown that food
composition and time point of meal intake have a relevant influence on the
bioavailability of both compounds.
