A novel π-conjugated polymer based on an ortho-alternating- para-phenylene ethynylene backbone was designed, successfully synthesized, and spectroscopically analyzed. Block copolymers containing a highly isotactic and non-racemic poly(propylene oxide) (PPO) segment and a poly(phenylene ethynylene) segment with either meta- or para-connectivity were synthesized and their solution properties were analyzed in extensive spectroscopic studies to elucidate aggregation and folding behavior.
