The thesis analyses the beginning of child and adolescent psychiatric services in Berlin be-tween 1918 and 1935. Using methods of history of sciences, social history, and history of institutions the conceptualisation of the psychopathy as a specific diagnosis for children with behaviour problems was examined. This diagnosis was the core diagnosis for the devel-opment of early psychiatry for children. By this theoretical concept of psychopathy the vari-ous scientific models about psychiatric disorders in childhood are worked out, especially con-cepts of psychiatry, pedagogics and psychotherapeutic schools as the Adlerian school. The history of the institutions in Berlin leads to the practical meanings of these theories and concepts: the gain of biologism in psychiatry as well as societal changes as Nazism showed implication to treatment of mentally ill children. Political theories and societal aspects had impact on the development of the psychiatry for children: more and more biological based theories break into psychiatry. Psychiatric disorders in childhood underwent a metamorphosis in theory and treatment models: psychiatric disorders were a determined sign of a specific societal class, the working-class. The young patients were considered not to be worthy for support and classified as hopeless for healing. To show the theoretical work as well as practical treatment of psychiatric disorders a heritage of the founder of the first Adlerian children s home in Berlin, Annemarie Wolff- Richter, was analysed. The children s home was built up by Adlerians in Berlin in the 20ies of the 20th cen-tury. The home lights up the early psychodynamic approach to behaviour problems of minors. The modernism of the former concepts is remarkable.","https://refubium.fu-berlin.de/handle/fub188/6534||http://dx.doi.org/10.17169/refubium-10733","urn:nbn:de:kobv:188-fudissthesis000000002422-6","ger","http://www.fu-berlin.de/sites/refubium/rechtliches/Nutzungsbedingungen","psychopathy||history of child and adolescent psychiatry||Adlerian psychology","600 Technik, Medizin, angewandte Wissenschaften::610 Medizin und Gesundheit::610 Medizin und Gesundheit","Theorie und Praxis der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie in Berlin 1920-1935","Die Diagnose ""Psychopathie"" im Spannungsfeld von Psychiatrie, Individualpsychologie und Politik","Theory and Practice of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Berlin 1920-1935","The diagnosis of psychopathy between psychiatry, Adlerian psychology and policy","Dissertation","free","open access","Text","Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin","FUDISS_derivate_000000002422","FUDISS_thesis_000000002422","http://www.diss.fu-berlin.de/2006/472/"
