In this work the synthesis and characterization by X-ray crystallography, NMR and raman spectroscopy of the analogous organochalkogenonium cations (RE)42+, (RE)3+ and (RE)5+ of the iodonium cations I42+, I3+ and I5+ was successful. Furthermore, the reproducibility of the structural motif by oxidizing diorgano dichalcogenides was proven by variation of the organic group and of the chalcogen atom itself. This approach leads to a wide range of the four-membered cations [(EtTe)42+(TfO–)2], [(PrTe)42+(TfO–)2], [(iBuTe)42+(TfO–)2], [(C10H20Te4)2+(TfO–)2], [(MeSe)42+(TfO–)2], [(EtSe)42+(TfO–)2] and [(CF3Te)42+(SbF6–)2]•2HF. The existence of an equilibrium in solution between these species and their monomeric units, which would be the analogues of I2+•, could not be proven by EPR spectroscopy. The change in configuration of the four-membered tellurium ring in [(C10H20Te4)2+(TfO–)2] in contrast to the other four-membered cations is an obvious hint for a formal dimerization of radical cationic diorgano dichalcogenide units. However, the synthesis of the organosulphur radical cation [(C3F7)2S2+•SbF6–] shows that such a structural motif does exist in the chemistry of organochalcogens. Moreover, the synthesis and characterization of three different iodonium analogues by oxidation of the same ditelluride, namely bis(trifluoromethyl) ditelluride, to the salts [(CF3Te)42+(SbF6–)2]•2HF, [(CF3Te)3+SbF6–]•1,3HF and [(CF3Te)5+SbF6–]•HF was successful. The oxidation of 4,4-dimethyl 1,2-ditellurolane to the eight- membered telluronium cation [(C5H10Te2)42+(TfO–)2] shows a completely new structural motif, which would be the corresponding I82+ whose existence has not been proven until today. This work demonstrates the crucial effect of reaction parameters on the synthesis of new organochalcogen cations. Especially, the influence of the oxidizing reagent and by that the counter ion was shown firstly in the case of dimethyl ditelluride with the undefined tellurium species. Secondly this was shown by the contrasting oxidation products (MeSe)42+ and (MeSe)3+ obtained from dimethyl diselenide with nitrosyl triflate and nitrosyl hexachloroantimonate, respectively. The synthesis of a four-membered organochalcogen iodine cation was not successful. Instead, the new organoselenium iodine compounds [CH3SeI2+I–], [Me2Se2•2I2] and [Me2Se2•I2] were synthesized. They may be valuable for further investigation of the bonding situation between selenium and iodine. With the synthesis and crystal structure of [C10H22S2•NO+TfO–] the existence of the first organosulphur nitrosyl adduct was proven. The new salts [(C3F7)2S3F+Sb2F11–] and [(C3F7)SBr2+SbF6–] which were also characterized by X-ray crystallography are an addition of the number of organochalcogen halogen species. This work contributes a structurally diverse chapter to the extensive chemistry of organochalcogenides which gains more variety with the introduced structures. A completion of the particular class of substances, for example within the chalcogens as well as the attempt to isolate an I82+ cation or searching for other new structural motifs are opportunities for further investigation in this field of chemistry.","132 S.","https://refubium.fu-berlin.de/handle/fub188/2734||http://dx.doi.org/10.17169/refubium-6935","urn:nbn:de:kobv:188-fudissthesis000000018458-3","ger","http://www.fu-berlin.de/sites/refubium/rechtliches/Nutzungsbedingungen","organo chalcogen cations||synthesis||X-ray crystallography","500 Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik::540 Chemie","Oxidation von Diorganodichalkogeniden","Oxidation of Diorgano Dichalcogenides","Dissertation","free","open access","Text","Biologie, Chemie, Pharmazie","FUDISS_derivate_000000011825","FUDISS_thesis_000000018458"
